On March 15th, we have the distinct honor of recognizing Elizabeth at the North Carolina Discovery Ball. She and her husband, Graham, live in Raleigh with their three young children. In November 2022, a colonoscopy and endoscopy detected a sizable cancerous tumor in Elizabeth’s colon. A subsequent CT scan confirmed that the cancer had spread to her lung, liver, and right ovary. Her doctors diagnosed her with Stage IV colon cancer. Since then, Elizabeth has undergone 26 rounds of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. The former teacher faces this battle with profound courage, grace, and faith. Her inspiring fight emphasizes the importance of continued funding for cancer research, and we invite you to join us in honoring Elizabeth at the Discovery Ball.
